Things to Do
There is absolutely no shortage of things to do in the D.C. area, regardless of what your interests are! We could not and will not deign to try and provide all options, but we do suggest a few things below in both Washington, D.C., and Alexandria.
Washington, D.C. offers a plethora of museums, monuments, and historic landmarks to see. The National Mall itself contains the largest concentration of museums (e.g., The Smithsonian Museums) and the monuments. If you plan to visit the Air and Space Museum, please note that you need to book free tickets in advance. If you are willing to travel a bit on the metro to North/Northwest D.C., you should consider going to see the Smithsonian Zoo! (They just got their pandas back...)
If you are staying in Old Town, you are going to enjoy the largely historic, quaint "neighborhood" in Northern Virginia! There are numerous unique shops, restaurants, and cafes to enjoy. It is a very walk-able neighborhood, with several miles of walking trails on top of that.
